Sudhir Rao trained at GS Medical College and the King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and passed the MBBS exam in 1981 and was awarded a Distinction in Anatomy and a Distinction in Surgery during his MBBS.
He qualified in 1985 as an Orthopaedic Surgeon, having been awarded the MS(Orth) from the University of Bombay. In U.K. he trained on the South-West region orthopaedic registrar rotation and in 1992 he was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Ed).
He was awarded the Degree of Master of Orthopaedic Surgery (MCh Orth) from the University of Liverpool in 1991. After Training as a Senior Registrar in the North-West region orthopaedic registrar rotation he was awarded the Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery (Intercollegiate) in 1996.
He was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1996 was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (Ad Eundem) in 1998. He is currently a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Princess Royal Hospital (Kings College NHS Trust).
He has joined the team at 108 Harley Street recently. Mr Rao proposes to reduce his workload within the NHS to dedicate more time to work here.
Following qualification he developed an interest in Knee surgery, Hip surgery, Shoulder surgery and Sports injuries. He has advised on many sports injuries on semi-professional and professional football players, rugby players, cricket tennis and badminton injuries, horse riding injuries, skiing injuries, car and motorcycle injuries. This expertise has ensured his success in joining the team at 108 Harley Street Chambers where he will be able to use his 20 years of experience on advising on Sports Injuries as an Orthopaedic surgeon in the Sports Injuries Clinic and on Hip injuries as a part of the assessment of Groin pain in the Gilmore Groin clinic.
